The existing 17th century house was thermally upgraded by applying insulation to its internal walls. To improve the useable space of the house, the staircase was re-located externally in a new stair tower.
The project included a substantial extension to accommodate a new entrance hall, kitchen and living space. The kitchen features sliding folding doors with a flush threshold to allow unhindered access to a large internal courtyard created by the scheme.
A solar hot water system and a heat recovery system are some of the sustainable features included in this project.
