Corpusty Primary School, a small rural primary school in North Norfolk required further classroom accommodation on a confined village site.
The original school buildings are Victorian with a good quality of brickwork detailing. It was decided that the best way of creating cost effective classroom accommodation was to design a contemporary top lit classroom using a highly insulated steel framed construction and allowing one complete wall to be a sliding folding bi-fold door system to open out directly to the playground. Underfoor heating gives freedom to locate furniture wherever required and the overhanging eaves give shelter when the doors are open to the playground. The new classroom provides a very colourful foil to the existing school buildings and has been a great success.
